Adding and Managing Your Vehicles

If you drive more than one vehicle, you can add them to SmartMiles and assign trips to specific cars. This keeps your records organized and makes exports clearer.

Adding a vehicle

  1. Go to Settings > Vehicles.
  2. Tap Add Vehicle.
  3. Start typing the make (e.g., "Toyota") — SmartMiles will suggest matches.
  4. Select the model (e.g., "Camry") from the suggestions.
  5. Enter the year.
  6. Choose a color (optional, helps you tell vehicles apart).
  7. Tap Save.

Vehicle make and model data comes from the NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration), so most US vehicles are available in the suggestions.

Setting a default vehicle

You can mark one vehicle as your default. Trips will be assigned to your default vehicle automatically unless overridden by Bluetooth detection or manual assignment.

To set a default:

  1. Go to Settings > Vehicles.
  2. Tap on the vehicle you want as your default.
  3. Turn on Default Vehicle.

Only one vehicle can be the default at a time. Setting a new default automatically clears the previous one.

Assigning a vehicle to a trip

You can change a trip's vehicle from the trip detail screen. Tap the vehicle field and select a different car.

Removing a vehicle

To remove a vehicle:

  1. Go to Settings > Vehicles.
  2. Tap on the vehicle.
  3. Tap Delete.

Removing a vehicle does not delete the trips assigned to it. Those trips will simply show no vehicle.
